Aukera Energy, a London-based solar developer, has secured a £135 million (~ $174 million) senior debt facility for five UK solar projects. The financing, provided by Deutsche Bank and Rabobank, supports the construction of 220 MW capacity across sites from Kent to Ayrshire. One of the sites, Benthead in North Ayrshire, features a 30 MW battery storage system with a two-hour duration, as per Aukera Energy. All five projects were awarded Contracts for Difference under Allocation Round 6 and are scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. This marks the company’s first portfolio-level solar financing in the UK. Burges Salmon advised Aukera Energy, while Pinsent Masons represented the lenders. Evergy acted as technical adviser to Deutsche Bank and Rabobank, supporting due diligence on both solar and storage components.
