US-based flexible thin-film PV manufacturer Ascent Solar, has recently entered a partnership with CisLunar Industries. CisLunar Industries, also US-based, produces scalable power hardware for electric propulsion and space infrastructure applications. The partnership has aimed to develop advanced space power systems combining Ascent Solar’s lightweight modules with CisLunar’s EPIC power conversion and control technology. According to Ascent Solar, the collaboration is aimed to enhance spacecraft power system efficiency, operational life, and reliability in orbit. Both the companies have confirmed that the partrnership is intended to support NASA, the US Space Force, and various defense-related missions. Ascent Solar has also stated that its experience in aerospace and defense sectors will complement CisLunar’s power engineering expertise. Earlier this year, Ascent Solar had delivered thin-film PV samples for ocean and space environment testing.
