US-based Ameresco SUNEL Energy SA, a joint venture between Ameresco, Inc. and SUNEL Group, has secured €303.4 million (~$345.45 million) EPC contracts for three solar parks in southwestern Romania. The 466 MW projects aimed to support Romania’s energy security and coal phase-out by 2032. The scope included design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations. Over 757,000 fixed-tilt solar modules were planned, expected to offset 734,789 tons of CO₂ annually. Construction was scheduled for completion within 18 months. The projects aligned with Romania’s plans to increase renewable energy capacity and lower emissions in line with European climate targets. In Greece, Ameresco Sunel has partnered with Lightsource bp to construct the 560 MW Enipeas solar project.
