UAE’s ALTÉRRA, climate investment vehicle, has announced a €50 million (~$56.90 million) commitment to Absolute Energy through its Acceleration Fund. The co-investment with I Squared Capital supported a 1.4 GW pipeline of solar and battery storage projects in Italy. Absolute Energy focused on small to mid-size renewable projects, using Italy’s supportive regulations. Italy aimed to add 46 GW of solar capacity by 2030. The 1.4 GW pipeline was expected to cut 380,000 metric tons of CO₂ emissions each year. Absolute Energy also had a larger 6 GW development pipeline. ALTÉRRA supported decarbonization through large-scale partnerships.
