The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, a Beijing-based multilateral development bank, and the Industrial Development Bank of Türkiye, headquartered in Istanbul, have signed a $65 million senior debt financing agreement for the YEKA Erzin-2 Hatay Solar PV Project. Each institution has contributed $32.5 million toward the 100 MW facility, which was awarded under Türkiye’s Renewable Energy Resource Zone program in June 2022. IC Enterra Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of Ankara-based IC Holding, is sponsoring the project that has been granted a 30-year license with indexed tariffs. IC Enterra has already operated a capacity of 388 MW of hydropower and has now incorporated this solar facility into its renewable portfolio. The Hatay facility will avoid 0.6261 tonnes CO2 equivalent per MWh, deliver low-cost electricity, create jobs and enhance the local economy following the earthquakes in 2023.
