Duluth, Georgia-headquartered AGCO, has signed a Virtual Power Purchase Agreement with Spain-based renewable energy group BRUC. The 10-year deal supports a 100 MW solar project in northwest Spain which is expected to produce 200 GWh each year. Construction is set for late 2025, with operations starting in 2026. A portion of the electricity was allocated to cover AGCO’s load across the Europe and Middle East region. The agreement was designed to reduce AGCO’s Scope 2 emissions and provide stable long-term electricity rates. Energy specialist Schneider Electric has supported the VPPA, which is being used by AGCO in regions where direct electricity procurement was less feasible.
