Abidjan-headquartered The African Development Bank Group, multilateral development finance institution, has approved €26.5 million (~$29.45 million) in financing for a 62 MW solar PV plant in Sokodé, Togo. The package included an €18.5 million (~$20.56 million) loan and an €8 million concessional loan from SEFA. Additional co-financing was to be provided by PROPACO. The €61 million (~$67.8 million) project, developed by Meridiam and Électricité de France, aimed to support Togo’s target of 200 MW renewable capacity by 2030. It included an 11 km transmission line and was expected to generate 87 GWh of electricity annually and cut CO₂ emissions by 13.6 thousand tons. The project aligned with Togo’s M300 energy compact.
