Philippines-based Aboitiz Renewables energized the 92.55 MW San Manuel solar plant in Pangasinan, its sixth solar facility. San Manuel became the company’s third project in the province after the Cayanga-Bugallon and Laoag plants. Aboitiz Renewables President Jimmy Villaroman said Pangasinan had strong solar potential and suitable grid connections. The company thanked NGCP for supporting the project’s grid integration. Aboitiz Renewables also secured NGCP approval for the 173 MW Calatrava plant in Negros Occidental. As of April 2025, the ground-mounted solar made up 9.6 percent of installed capacity in the Philippine grid. The company had more than 1,000 MW of renewable projects in development.
