BrightNight, a US-based renewable energy producer, has signed an INR 15,000 crore (~$1.8 billion) agreement with the Government of Rajasthan. The deal is formalized at the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024 and aims to boost the state’s renewable energy capacity. According to BrightNight, the project will support Rajasthan’s 125 GW clean energy target by 2030. It will also create 5,000 jobs and lower energy costs for industries. Construction on 600 MW of dispatchable power begins in January 2025.
