US-based BrightNight has initiated the first phase of Optima Maharashtra, a 115 MW hybrid renewable power project in Maharashtra, spanning 500 acres. This marks the company’s debut energy delivery into India’s grid and one of the state’s initial co-located wind-solar initiatives. The project utilizes wind and solar PV technologies alongside the AI-enabled PowerAlpha platform to generate clean energy sufficient for powering 230,000 homes annually and reducing 225,000 tons of carbon emissions. It aligns with Maharashtra’s goal of 40% renewable energy by 2030 and India’s Net Zero objectives. Creating 300 jobs during development, the project is part of BrightNight’s broader expansion into hybrid renewable portfolios.
