Voltalia begins 126 MW Sarimay plant construction

Voltalia, an international renewable energy company, has begun constructing the 126 MW Sarimay Solar power plant in Uzbekistan, expected to be operational by late 2025. This project will prevent 116,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. Additionally, Voltalia has signed agreements to add 50 MW/100 MWh of battery storage to the Sarimay complex. The project, funded by the EBRD and JICA, was secured through a 2022 IFC tender. Contracts for the battery storage unit will be signed in summer 2024, with construction commencing the same year. In November 2023, Voltalia also signed a framework agreement for the 500 MW Artimisya hybrid complex in the Bukhara region, which will combine solar, wind, and battery storage.

ACCIONA expands clean energy solutions in Philippines

ACCIONA, a leader in sustainable infrastructure and renewable energy, has expanded its presence in the Philippines by acquiring an 80% stake in Freya Renewables, a renewable development consulting firm. This move adds 880 MW to ACCIONA’s development portfolio. Additionally, ACCIONA Energía is constructing a 150 MW solar power plant in Daanbantayan, the Philippines’ first public-private partnership in solar energy. As the Philippine government aims for 35% renewable energy by 2030 and 50% by 2040, ACCIONA is collaborating with the Ayala Foundation and receives co-financing from AECID to provide clean energy to 600 households, with plans to impact over 1,500 rural households in Palawan by 2025. Acciona.org has been empowering underserved communities since 2021, addressing immediate energy needs sustainably.

Crux facilitates Schneider Electric’s tax credit purchase

Schneider Electric has partnered with Crux to secure Silfab Solar’s inaugural Section 45X Advanced Manufacturing Production Tax Credits, enhancing American solar manufacturing for both commercial and residential use. The Inflation Reduction Act introduced a transferable tax credit market, allowing clean energy developers like Silfab to trade credits for cash, driving private sector investments in energy infrastructure. Schneider Sustainability Business facilitated this collaboration, managing billions in annual corporate tax liabilities and advising on tax credit opportunities. Crux, a sustainable finance technology firm, played a vital role in connecting Silfab Solar and Schneider Electric, revolutionizing clean energy project financing in the US through its Transferable Tax Credit Market Intelligence Report, projecting significant market growth.

Correlate Energy announces shared project initiative

Correlate Energy Corp. and Energetic Capital have launched a pipeline initiative to deliver renewable energy to underserved communities. This partnership combines Energetic Capital’s financing expertise with Correlate Energy’s project development skills. They aim to access the EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) programs, including the $7 billion Solar for All grant and the $14 billion National Clean Investment Fund grant, which focus on low-income households and communities.
