Bureau of Land Management Vegas Field Office announces 30-day public comment period (Jan 19-Feb 19, 2024) and a virtual meeting on Jan 24, 6-8 p.m. PT, for the proposed Dry Lake East Energy Center Solar Project. The project, located on 1,635 acres 10 miles northeast of Las Vegas, involves a 200 MW photovoltaic solar facility, 200 MW of battery energy storage, and an additional 400 MW battery energy storage facility. The site, designated in 2020 for solar development, resulted from a competitive 2022 auction, with the BLM-developed environmental assessment seeking feedback on construction, operation, and decommissioning.
