Birch Creek completes Earp Solar Project

Birch Creek Energy, LLC, a St. Louis-based renewable energy company, has announced the completion of financing and full operation of Earp Solar, a 47 MW utility-scale solar project in Warren County, Illinois. According to the company, Earp Solar, sited on 229 acres and connected to Ameren Illinois, generates enough clean electricity to power over 7,300 homes. This project is the first fully financed and operational project under Birch Creek’s IPP entity, with more projects expected this year. Since announcing its IPP strategy in mid-2023, the company has aggressively pursued the construction and financing of six projects in the MISO territory, totaling 342 MW. Tax equity was arranged through Foss & Co., permanent debt by West Town Bank & Trust, and construction capital by Pathward, N.A.
