Germany-based BayWa r.e. announced that its Alhendín solar park in Granada, Spain, combines renewable energy, agriculture, and biodiversity. These 54 MW Agri-PV projects, built under a PPA with the VELUX Group, began supplying 96.8 GWh annually to the grid in May, powering 24,700 households and supporting VELUX’s sustainability goals. The park integrates farming activities, wildlife habitats, and community engagement through biodiversity initiatives and educational programs. Further measures, including crop harvesting and the release of kestrel chicks, will continue into 2025.
