US’s Avantus signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Arizona Public Service (APS) for the Kitt Solar Project in Eloy, Arizona. This 100 MW (AC)/130 MW (DC) solar project, paired with 400 MWh of energy storage, is set to begin construction in 2025 and become operational by 2026. The project will serve 32,000 homes, offset 200,000 metric tons of CO2 annually, and support local infrastructure with tax revenues and 400 construction jobs. This initiative strengthens Arizona’s grid resilience amid rising electricity demands due to extreme heat conditions.
