Avangrid, Inc., a sustainable energy company under the Iberdrola Group, has received its final shipment of solar panels for the True North project in Falls County, Texas. This project marks Avangrid’s largest solar facility and its first in Texas, with a capacity of 238 MWac (321 MWdc). Located near Waco, True North aims to support Meta’s net zero commitment, providing renewable energy to its upcoming data center in neighboring Temple. The project has contributed to local employment and community support, projecting over $40 million in property taxes during its lifespan. With over 15 years of experience in Texas, Avangrid has developed and operated renewable energy projects totaling more than 1,200 MW of wind capacity.
