Avangrid, Inc., a part of the Iberdrola Group, has commenced construction on its inaugural PV project in California, the 57 MW Camino Solar Project in Kern County. This initiative will consist of 105,000 solar panels capable of powering approximately 14,000 households annually and is expected to create over 100 temporary and permanent jobs. Located adjacent to the Manzana Wind Farm, which began operations in 2012, Camino Solar spans both private and public lands managed by the US Bureau of Land Management. The project aligns with the Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan, identifying suitable regions for renewable energy projects. Avangrid, a major player in renewable energy, boasts an installed capacity of 8.7 GW.
