Australia-based ZEN Energy, an electricity retailer, BOC Australia and ACEN Australia has signed a 10-year electricity agreement that will supply solar power to BOC facilities in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria until 2035. The deal will replace more than 45% of BOC’s current grid electricity with solar energy from ACEN’s 400 MW New England Solar project in NSW. Under this agreement, ZEN Energy will purchase about 23% of the solar output from this project. The initiative is expected to cut BOC Australia’s carbon emissions by over 40% by 2035 and supports the emissions reduction goals of its parent company, Linde. The agreement also helps BOC offer industrial gases with lower carbon intensity. Overall, the collaboration contributes to Australia's renewable energy goals and adds clean energy to the National Electricity Market.
