Yanara, originated as BrightNight’s Asia Pacific division, has appointed Gamuda as project delivery partner for the Mortlake Energy Hub in southwest Victoria. The approved hybrid project has combined a 450 MW solar farm with a 600 MW / 2,400 MWh battery energy storage system. The hub will be developed on a 1,060-hectare site and will connect to the existing Mortlake Terminal Station via a new substation. Once operational, the energy hub will power about 200,000 homes annually supporting Victoria’s energy supply needs. Gamuda is assigned responsibility for design, approvals, procurement and delivery. Construction was expected to create around 200 regional jobs. Mortlake is Gamuda’s latest Australian renewable energy project within its 2 GW portfolio.
