Smart Commercial Energy, an Australia-based commercial energy solutions provider, has disclosed a partnership with Over Easy Solar (OES) to introduce a new rooftop solar solution in Australia. The solution from OES, a Norway-based clean energy company, is intended for commercial buildings where conventional rooftop solar systems are not feasible due to structural limitations or roof-related constraints. Over Easy Solar’s system uses prefabricated, vertically oriented solar modules that are installed directly on roof surfaces without the use of traditional tilt frames. The solution is pre-assembled and pre-racked, reducing installation complexity. The system was designed from the outset to sit lightly on the roof, adding only 12 kg / sq mts. According to the announcement, the system can operate alongside conventional rooftop solar installations by generating electricity during early morning and late afternoon periods. OES has developed the system specifically for buildings with green roofs and engineered roof membranes. Smart Commercial Energy has stated that the technology will be introduced in Australia through an initial trial phase involving small-scale rooftop installations.
