UK based Lightsource bp has sold a portfolio of Australian solar assets to Aula Energy. The deal covers five operational solar PV projects with a combined capacity of 1.037 GW (DC). The assets include Wellington, Wellington North, West Wyalong, Woolooga and Wunghnu which are located across New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria. The portfolio generates about 2,230 GWh of electricity each year. It also produces enough power for more than 380,000 households. Annual emissions avoidance is estimated at 1.6 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions. Lightsource bp said the sale marks a milestone, as these were its first delivered assets in Australia. The company is now focusing on hybrid projects combining solar, wind and battery storage. It has a pipeline exceeding 9.5 GW in Asia-Pacific.
