Sydney headquartered Edify Energy has selected DT Infrastructure as the preferred EPC contractor for two large hybrid solar and battery projects in Queensland, Australia. The Smoky Creek and The Guthrie’s Gap projects in Banana Shire will include 720 MW of solar and 600 MW / 2,400 MWh battery energy storage system. The Ganymirra and Majors Creek projects in the Townsville region will add 360 MW of solar with 300 MW / 1,200 MWh of battery storage. Overall, the two developments will add about 1.08 GWp of solar capacity and 900 MW / 3,600 MWh of BESS capacity. The annual generation from the facilities is expected to reach nearly 2,500,000 MWh of dispatchable electricity. The projects will use grid-forming inverters designed to support network stability. Pre-construction and design work are underway with construction planned to begin across Q1 and Q2 2026.
