North Sydney-headquartered CleanPeak Energy, a renewable energy firm, has completed the 7.5 MW (DC) Moama Solar Farm in Southern NSW and held a ribbon cutting ceremony. The site includes over 12,000 ground-mounted solar panels designed to follow the sun’s movement. The layout is aimed to preserve environmental features, minimise native vegetation removal and avoid culturally sensitive areas. The solar farm was connected to the local distribution network. It was expected to generate 15 GWh of electricity every year. This is enough to power 3,000 homes. The output was estimated to cut over 10,000 tons of CO₂ emissions. This is equal to taking 2,000 cars off the road.
