The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has launched Round 2 of the $1 billion Solar Sunshotprograms to strengthen domestic solar PV manufacturing. The round has allocated $150 million to support supply chain segments such as framing, solar glass, junction boxes, and deployment technologies. Round 1A, which closed earlier, had committed up to $500 million to boost manufacturing module. Round 1B, with $50 million for feasibility and engineering studies, has been extended until November 2026. ARENA has already funded $46 million to 5B for its Maverick deployment system, $34.5 million to Tindo Solar to expand module production, and $11 million for upstream feasibility studies. Round 2 is scheduled to open for submissions on 23 September 2025, with eligibility details available on the ARENA website.
