ACEN Australia, a wholly owned subsidiary of ACEN, secured permission to connect three clean energy projects to the power grid within the Central West-Orana Renewable Energy Zone in New South Wales. The projects include the 920 MW Valley of the Winds wind farm, the 600 MW Birriwa Solar farm, and the 600 MW/2-hour Birriwa battery energy storage system. The solar and battery projects received planning approval in August 2024, while the wind project is still under final review. ACEN Australia gained these connection rights through a competitive government-led selection process. The announcement followed the company’s completion of a $750 million funding arrangement to support its regional developments. According to the company, the milestone reflects its ability to deliver large-scale projects and contributes to regional development and grid reliability.
