Madrid, Spain headquarters ACCIONA Energía has completed commissioning and began commercial operations at the 480 MW Aldoga Solar Farm in Queensland. The project generated electricity equal to the annual use of about 185,000 households and avoided an estimated 934,000 tons of CO₂ each year. All output was supplied to Stanwell Corporation under a 15-year PPA. The construction created around 350 local jobs and used up to AUD 150 million (~$ 99.53 million) in locally procured materials and services. The project supported infrastructure upgrades, including Flynn Road and funded several community initiatives through small grants and a legacy investment program. The company has reported that Aldoga formed part of its nearly 2 GW renewable portfolio in Australia and followed ongoing commissioning of the 923 MW MacIntyre Wind Farm.
