Ascent Solar Technologies, a leading US innovator in lightweight, flexible, and durable CIGS thin-film PV solutions, has secured a firm order from a major satellite manufacturer for initial PV module delivery for evaluation. The delivered product will undergo extensive assessment for potential integration into the manufacturer’s next-generation satellites in low Earth orbit. Upon successful evaluation, Ascent intends to collaborate with the customer to design and manufacture Plug and Fly arrays, aiming for delivery as early as Q4 2024-Q1 2025. These arrays will serve as primary power sources for the next generation of satellites, reducing part count, weight, and system complexity. This initial order aligns with Ascent’s corporate goals for revenue generation and underscores the growing market opportunity in the aerospace sector highlighted in its March 8, 2024 Corporate Update.
