US-based ARRAY Technologies, a leader in solar tracker systems, has announced a $3 million investment in Swap Robotics, a Canada-based innovator in utility-scale solar automation. According to ARRAY, this strategic move aligns with the rapidly advancing automation in PV installation. Swap Robotics is closing a pre–Series A funding round, with ARRAY committing two additional $1 million investments if certain agreed-upon milestones are achieved. The integration of Swap’s technology aims to enhance installation efficiency and reduce project costs for developers and EPCs. ARRAY highlights that Swap’s heavy-duty robots have logged over 8,000 miles of autonomous outdoor navigation in 18 months. ARRAY claims the partnership will accelerate automation-optimized designs and differentiate ARRAY’s offerings in the competitive solar market.
