Array Technologies has partnered with DNV Energy USA to release a detailed report titled “Energy Impact of Different Solar Tracker Wind Stow Strategies,” analyzing the advantages of safe, passive wind stow technology in solar installations. The study assessed various tracker wind stow methods, considering factors like wind velocity thresholds, direction, and stow angles. Results indicate that passive stow strategies significantly increase energy production across all wind regions, particularly in medium to high wind areas. As per the report Array’s DuraTrack and OmniTrack products, equipped with patented passive stow technology, demonstrated substantial gains in energy production and reliability compared to active stow alternatives. This study confirms that Array’s passive stow technology preserves 99.95% of energy during wind stow events, minimizing losses to just 0.05%, while improving operational efficiency and system reliability.
