China’s Arctech, a solar tracking and racking solutions provider announced that its SkyLine II solar tracker system is powering Azerbaijan’s first and largest utility-scale solar project. The 312 MW Garadagh solar power plant, located in the Garadagh Gobi Desert near the coastline, spans 550 hectares and generates 500 million kWh annually, supplying electricity to 110,000 households while reducing over 200,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. The SkyLine II system’s multi-point drive mechanism enhances stability in high winds, adjusts to complex terrains, and incorporates anti-corrosion technology to endure the desert’s harsh conditions. Azerbaijan aims to achieve 30% renewable energy by 2030 and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2050.
