Amphenol Industrial Operations has launched manufacturing operations at its new Mesa, AZ solar product factory, producing U.S.-made solar junction boxes. The 58,000 sq.ft facility accommodates 12 advanced manufacturing lines. The first operational line currently yields 3,000 junction boxes daily, with two more lines underway. The factory will also manufacture connectors and interconnect assemblies for solar arrays, with completion slated for late 2024. At present, 70 new employees support junction box production, with additional hires anticipated to meet demand and increased manufacturing capacity. This expansion, announced in September 2023, reinforces Amphenol’s presence in Mesa, supports domestic solar market demand, and qualifies for 10% IRS incentives under the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.
