US based Zelestra, renewable energy developer, has signed a long-term power purchase agreement with AEP Energy Partners for the 49.9 MW Gem City Solar project in Dayton, Ohio. The project is in advanced stage and is planned to start construction in early 2027 with operations expected by the end of the year. The electricity produced will be sold by AEP Energy Partners to AEP Energy, which supplies power to the City of Dayton’s community aggregation program through the Sustainable Ohio Public Energy Council (SOPEC). The project is planned as one of the larger solar facilities located within a US city, and Zelestra is preparing for construction under the agreement.
