Westbridge Renewable Energy Corporation announced that its subsidiary Dolcy Solar Inc. received final transmission and connection approvals from the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC). The approvals applied to the Dolcy Solar + Energy Storage Project. The approvals covered the Needs Identification Document from the Alberta Electric System Operator, facility permissions for Dolcy Solar Inc., and AltaLink Management Ltd. The authorization allowed construction and operation of the Dolcy 948AL Transmission Line to connect the planned 300 MW AC solar plant and 100 MW / 200 MWh BESS in the Municipal District of Wainwright No. 61. Westbridge Renewable stated that the project moved into the ready-to-build stage. The company noted that Dolcy was its third Alberta project to reach this point after Georgetown and Sunnynook, which were sold to Metlen Energy & Metals in 2023 and 2024.
