TERREPOWER, a US-based sustainable manufacturer, has announced a major expansion of solar module processing, including approximately 95,000 panels totaling 50 MW at its Sparta, Tennessee facility. The modules, resold by a large developer after a project was canceled, are being restored through evaluation, cleaning, testing, inspection, secure repackaging, and validation before market re-entry. The Sparta processing operation is housed in a 200,000-square-foot facility with capacity to produce 300,000 solar modules annually and scalability beyond one million panels per year. At full capacity, the operation is expected to divert more than 16 million pounds of material from landfills annually. According to TERREPOWER, industry studies show US end-of-life volumes have reached 4 to 5 million retired panels annually and are projected to increase to 10 million panels by 2030.
