Standard Solar, a commercial and community solar asset owner and operator based in Rockville, Maryland, completed a 2.38 MW solar and 999 kW battery storage community solar project in Westport, Massachusetts. The Division Road project, acquired from New Leaf Energy and built with EDF Power Solutions, was installed on seven acres in Bristol County and included 4,420 modules. It was expected to generate around 2,500 MWh of electricity annually while supporting the Solar Massachusetts Renewable Target (SMART) Program’s goal of 3,200 MW statewide by 2025. The integrated storage improved grid reliability and flexibility for the New England region. The project created construction jobs, provided local tax revenue and contributed to regional clean energy capacity.
