US-based The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) warned that the reconciliation bill passed by the US House in May 2025 may cause major job losses. If the Senate does not revise it, up to 330,000 current and future solar and storage jobs could be at risk across all 50 states. SEIA’s analysis showed that states like Texas, Florida, California, and Illinois would face the largest impacts. The bill could also lead to the closure or cancellation of 331 solar factories and the loss of $286 billion in local investments.
