US-based OCI Energy has sold its 120 MW AC utility-scale solar project, Project Pepper, to Sabanci Renewables in McLennan County, Texas. According to OCI Energy, it was responsible for all stages of development, including site acquisition, permitting, and interconnection. Sabanci Renewables has stated that the acquisition aligns with its strategy to expand its USpresence, bringing its total solar capacity under operation or construction to 660 MW DC. Project Pepper is expected to begin commercial operations in the third quarter of 2027. This transaction marks the first collaboration between OCI Energy and Sabanci Renewables, with additional deals reportedly under consideration. As per Sabanci Renewables, the project supports its long-term goal of achieving a 3,000 MW DC renewable portfolio by 2030.
