Turkey headquartered Sabanci Renewables, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sabancı Holding, has acquired the 156 MW (DC) Pepper Solar Power Plant from OCI Energy. Located in McLennan County, Texas, the project is Sabanci’s third utility-scale solar asset in the U.S. Construction is scheduled to begin in December 2025. Once operational, it is expected to generate 292 GWh annually. This output could power 28,000 homes and offset 133,000 tons of CO₂ emissions per year. With Pepper, Sabanci’s total US solar portfolio has reached 660 MW (DC), including operational and in-construction capacity. All three projects—Cutlass II, Oriana, and Pepper—are within the ERCOT market. Sabanci has used solid financing and reliable partners. The deal supports its goal of reaching 3 GW (DC) of renewables by 2030.
