RWE, a Germany-based energy developer and power producer, has commissioned 15 energy projects totaling 2 GW across the US during 2025. These newly operational projects span Kentucky, Arizona, Illinois, New York, Texas, California and Louisiana, and include six solar plants, five wind projects and four BESS projects. Following these additions, RWE’s operational generation capacity in the US has reached nearly 13 GW, expanding the company’s nationwide power portfolio. According to the company, the commissioned projects have created more than 3,500 construction jobs and committed over $500 million toward local tax revenues and community benefits. In Illinois, Emily Solar with 273.6 MW capacity and Casey Fork Solar with 150 MW capacity generated over 600 construction jobs during construction. The Illinois solar installations are expected to deliver more than $50 million in local tax revenue during their operational lifetimes.
