PureSky Energy, a New York-based community solar developer, has placed the Canandaigua NY Solar project into commercial operation within the RG&E(Rochester Gas and Electric) utility region. According to PureSky Energy, the shared solar facility has a total capacity of 4.619 MW DC and serves five local businesses. The project has deployed 8,476 high-efficiency photovoltaic panels across the Canandaigua site. As per PureSky Energy, the facility has been designed to generate about 6,623,646 kWh of electricity annually. The annual output has been estimated to offset electricity use equivalent to 927 homes. PureSky Energy said that the project has enabled participating businesses to access lower electricity costs. The company stated that long-term customer savings have been estimated at $ 2,073,172 over 30 years. The project has also delivered measurable economic activity within the local Canandaigua community.
