PowerBank Corporation, a Canada-based developer and owner of renewable energy projects, has announced a new 5 MW AC hybrid solar storage project in upstate New York. PowerBank has executed a lease agreement for this NY-Cloverdale Road project, and is awaiting eligibility for NYSERDA incentives. The proposed community solar and storage installation will supply electricity to the local grid, enabling subscribers to receive monthly bill credits without the need to install their own equipment. PowerBank has stated that interconnection choices, approval timelines, financial conditions, and shifting incentive structures may influence broader project delivery. This hybrid deployment supports New York’s goals of achieving 10 GW of distributed solar and 6 GW of energy storage by CY 2030. PowerBank Corporation’s established pipeline exceeds 1 GW of projects. Recently, PowerBank has secured a $1.47 million NYSERDA grant for the Geddes Solar Project.
