Portland General Electric (PGE), publicly traded utility, has finalized agreements for 1 GW of solar and battery energy storage capacity across four projects in Oregon. The projects includes two solar-plus-storage developments and two standalone battery storage systems. The Biglow Optimization project in Sherman County will include 125 MW solar and 125 MW battery storage with operations scheduled for late 2027. The project will be owned by PGE with an estimated investment of about $540 million. The Wheatridge Expansion project in Morrow County will add 240 MW solar and 125 MW battery storage. PGE will own 110 MW solar and 65 MW storage under a joint ownership structure with an estimated investment of about $490 million. PGE has also secured power purchase agreements for two battery storage projects in Washington County.
