Opsun Corporation, a Canadian company that makes solar panel mounting structures, announced a $9.3 million investment to open its first US production facility in High Point, Guilford County. The new site is expected to create 20 jobs with an average salary of $63,015, which is higher than the county average. The facility will expand the company’s operations and increase warehouse space. Governor Josh Stein said the project shows that North Carolina continues to attract international companies. The state awarded a $40,000 performance-based grant from the One North Carolina Fund, which depends on meeting job and investment goals. The project was supported by several state and local groups, including the North Carolina Department of Commerce. Opsun plans to keep sourcing all components from North America.
