OCI Holdings Co., through its US subsidiary Mission Solar Energy LLC, is investing USD 265 million to build a solar cell manufacturing plant in Texas. The facility, located on Mission Solar’s site, will produce 2 GW of solar cells annually—starting with 1 GW in early 2026 and adding another 1 GW later that year.OCI expects about USD 80 million in tax credits under the Inflation Reduction Act’s Advanced Manufacturing Production Credit program. By using existing infrastructure, OCI aims to cut capital costs and shorten construction time by over a year. The project strengthens OCI’s non-China supply chain, complements its Malaysian polysilicon unit, and follows earlier US solar collaborations with CPS Energy and Arava Power.
