Madison Gas and Electric, a Madison-based regulated utility, initially outlined plans to acquire shares of four Wisconsin projects. The company gained these acquisitions with We Energies and Wisconsin Public Service, both Milwaukee-based electricity providers. Madison Gas and Electric later received regulatory approval to purchase 35 MW of solar, 5 MW of battery storage and nearly 18 MW of wind capacity from the developments. MGE said the Saratoga Solar Energy Center includes 150 MW of solar and 50 MW of storage, of which it will own 15 MW of solar and 5 MW of storage.MGE added that ownership covers 20 MW from the 200 MW Ursa Solar Park. The allocation also includes 11.2 MW from Badger Hollow and 6.7 MW from Whitetail Wind.
