US-based The Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) started the FY2026 Higher Education Clean Energy Grant Program for accredited colleges and universities in Maryland. The statewide program gave funds for solar projects, campus energy planning, new courses, and student training. Its goal was to help schools build efficient campuses that also served as learning spaces. Applications were due on November 14, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. ET.The budget was $8 million, with up to $1 million for solar projects, $145,000 for planning or courses, and $25,000 for internships. The Maryland Clean Energy Center (MCEC) helped with funding access and technical support for these projects.
