LONGi, a China-based solar technology company, has supplied PV modules for the Cotoperí Solar complex in Central America and the Caribbean. ACCIONA Energía, as the majority partner, developed the complex with Cotosolar Holding partners, including JMMB Sustainable Energy Fund. The complex has an installed capacity of 162.6 MW and has been equipped with LONGi Hi-MO 7 PV modules. The project has comprised three PV plants located in Guaymate, La Romana. The deployment is expected to generate approximately 286 GWh annually, avoiding more than 210,000 tons of CO₂ emissions each year. The modules have been selected for performance suitability in tropical climate conditions, as stated by the project developer. Construction of the project has generated more than 600 direct and indirect jobs. These programs have been stated to benefit more than 4,500 people. Recently, LONGi has supplied PV modules for Solarpro’s 450 MW utility-scale solar project in Hungary’s Heves county.
