kWh Analytics, a US-based renewable energy insurance and risk analytics firm, has expanded its Property Insurance offering, following a renewed underwriting agreement with Aspen Specialty, extending insurance support through Solar Energy Insurance Services. Under the revised framework, the insurer has received delegated authority to underwrite construction and operational renewable energy accounts. Coverage under the updated structure applies to solar projects, BESS, and selected minority renewable asset classes. According to the company, property insurance limits have increased to $100 million per renewable energy project location. The expanded capacity builds on Excess Natural Catastrophe coverage introduced in 2025, adding up to $20 million protection. This catastrophe layer applies to severe convective storms and named windstorms affecting non-coastal renewable energy assets. kWh Analytics stated that underwriting decisions rely on real-time risk assessment models and documented operational risk controls.
