Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company LLC has announced the closing of a $440 million tax equity commitment from US Bank and M&T Bank for the 674 MW (DC) / 500 MW (AC) Cider solar project in Genesee County, New York. The commitment represented the final source of capital required to fully finance the project and supports the utilization of Investment Tax Credits. It followed nearly $1 billion in prior financing secured from project finance banks and financial institutions, alongside construction milestones already achieved. Cider is targeted to enter commercial operation in late 2026 and is expected to generate enough electricity to power approximately 120,000 homes annually. Over its operational life, the project is projected to support construction employment and generate around $100 million in local revenue through property taxes and related agreements, with legal and financial advisors supporting the transaction.
