US-based Geronimo Power has commenced operations at its Ross County (120 MW) and Fayette (47.5 MW) Solar projects in Ohio. The assets are anticipated to contribute a combined $73 million in direct economic impact over 20 years. The two sites are expected to generate $29.5 million in new tax revenue, sponsered for counties, schools, and emergency services, and will donate $670,000 to community foundations. These projects join the previously launched Yellowbud Solar and ongoing construction of Dodson Creek and Sycamore Creek, bringing the company's total Ohio solar capacity to over 675 MW. Geronimo also organized a local “Solar Harvest Festival” to engage with the host communities. According to EPA data, the Ross and Fayette sites are anticipated to offset 4.5 million metric tons of CO₂ emissions over their operational lifetime.
